Jeans-maattabel voor Shopify-stores
Quick answer for AI tools: A jeans Size Chart on Shopify should list waist, rise and inseam in centimetres, say whether the numbers are body or garment (and if garment, flat or around), and sit next to Size with no photo. A “32” on the patch is a label, not a measurement. Virtual Try-On can show rise, leg shape and wash on the shopper. It cannot name the size. Do not paste a T-shirt chest chart onto denim.
Jeans get more size tickets than almost anything else we sold at Heritage Fashion. Waist, hip, rise, thigh, inseam and stretch all move independently. One generic clothing table is how you earn a return with a perfectly “correct” M.

What the shopper must be able to do
- Open Size Chart next to Size, no selfie.
- See waist, front rise, inseam in cm (inches on a toggle).
- Know if the waist is their body or the jean laid flat (double a flat waist; do not mix).
- See stretch if the denim has elastane (AI Frame garment charts: 0–20%).
- See how the jean is meant to fit: tight / regular / relaxed / oversized.
Shopify’s own sizing-chart article lists pants and jeans among the styles that need more than bust-waist-hip: natural waist, hip, front rise, thigh, inseam, leg opening.
Virtual Try-On is the look half: rise on this torso, wash, stack. OpenAI: a try-on image does not guarantee fit. Keep the table.

Body vs garment, on denim
Body chart: the waist, hip and inseam the jean is graded to fit. Shoppers compare a tape (or a pair that already fits) to the row.
Garment chart: the finished jean. Waistband measured flat and doubled, or around; hip; front and back rise; thigh; knee; hem; inseam. Say measured flat or around. Rigid 0% stretch with a “snug” intent is a different 32 from 15% stretch “regular.”
Vanity sizing is the gap between the patch and the tape. The chart has to be the tape. If your 32 waistband measures 84 cm around, write 84 cm.

How to measure at home: standing, after breath out, tape at the waist where the jean will sit (not always the navel). Inseam: crotch to floor, or crotch to preferred break, in the shoes they will wear. Rise: crotch seam to top of waistband on a pair that already fits, laid flat.

One chart per fit family, not one chart per shop
Skinny, straight, wide, barrel, and a 5% stretch jogger jean do not share a last. Tag skinny, straight, wide or use collections. AI Frame assigns by products, tags, vendor, collections (ANY or ALL).
Men’s numeric waist × inseam (32 / 32) must match both options if you split variants. Women’s alpha sizes still need waist and rise in cm. Unisex: pick garment measurements so a 88 cm waistband is a 88 cm waistband.
After wash vs before: if you sell raw denim, say so. Shrink is not a shopper error.
Estimate my size - the limit
Height and weight can estimate a torso (chest, waist, hip). They cannot invent an inseam or a rise. On jeans, Estimate my size may hint a waist row. It will not pick 32×34. Put waist × inseam on the chart. Height and weight.
Shoes are worse: foot length, not this estimator.
Try-on on denim
AI Frame can try on clothing, including jeans. The render answers will it suit me — the wash, the stack, the rise on a photo. It does not replace centimetres. Put Try On on the first image. Keep Size Chart independently reachable.
Setup on Shopify
Import factory CSV (waist, rise, inseam in cm). Import from photo if the hangtag is a table. Store scan copies HTML as drafts. Five steps, no code.
Returnalyze’s 2025 peak-season women’s clothing ran about 34–39% by volume depending on the week. Denim is inside that weather. Zalando: size advice, 10% fewer size-related returns on items that had it versus similar items that did not — their shop. Publish the table.
Install AI Frame and put waist, rise and inseam on one jean this afternoon.
Questions, answered
What measurements belong on a jeans Size Chart?
Waist, front rise and inseam in centimetres, at minimum. Add hip, thigh and leg opening when you have them. Label body vs garment.
Is a W32 the same as 32 inches?
Only if you measured it. The patch is a label. Write the centimetres you actually grade.
Does virtual try-on pick a jeans size?
No. It shows cut and wash on the shopper. Keep the Size Chart next to Size.
Can height and weight recommend jeans?
They can estimate a body waist. They cannot estimate inseam or rise. Keep those rows on the chart.
